Memorial and Tribute Gifts

You can make a memorial gift or tribute gift to honor a friend or loved one. You can honor someone to celebrate a special occasion, like a birthday, graduation or anniversary. You may also mark the passing of a family member, friend or co-worker with a contribution.

Many people wonder what the appropriate amount is for a memorial or honorary gift. Generally speaking, consider spending what you would have on flowers – usually between $50 and $100. A named fund in honor or in memory of an individual may also be established with a gift of $50,000 or more.

All donors receive an acknowledgment notice. Perkins also sends a letter to the bereaved family or the person being honored to let them know of the donor's kindness.
