The College Success @ Perkins program is a 9-month residential program designed to help students with visual impairment get the most out of college. In just one year, we’ll prepare students for everything they’re about to experience, like how to navigate college campuses, how to join clubs and sports teams and how to cook a meal in their own apartment.
We believe that actually doing things is the best way to learn. With College Success, students live with roommates, take college classes and socialize with local college students. They also get on-the-job experience by visiting local companies and learn how to tailor their college experience to meet their career goals.
College Success @ Perkins is perfect for the high school graduate who wants to be fully prepared for college and students who have spent time in college and are looking to hone their skills and return to college prepared for success. The program is open to students who have completed high school by August, 2017 and have applied or are in the process of applying to college.
We invite you to learn what College Success is all about during our Open House event. You'll have a chance to ask questions, meet faculty and tour our state-of-the-art campus just 20 minutes from Boston. If you have any questions about the program in the meantime you can also contact the program director at CollegeSuccess@Perkins.org or 617-972-7573.
We look forward to meeting you!
