Unabridged Digital Audio Books

The BTBL is part of a consortium of talking book libraries to offer downloadable digital audio books to patrons through the Unabridged Project. Unabridged provides a web-based library of narrated digital audio books for download.

Unabridged utilizes the content resources of Overdrive Media to provide audio books in protected Windows Media Audio format (WMA) and MP3 file formats. Registered library patrons in Massachusetts will be able to self-checkout and download digital audio books.

Contact the Library to sign up for Unabridged. Visit the Unabridged Website to preview the collection.

Digital book playback:

Books can be played on PCs and Mac, WMA enabled playback devices, and iPods.  Go to http://unabridged.info to get information on playback devices.  For PC you will need Windows Media Player or iTunes, as well as the accessible OverDrive Media Console. For Mac you must have Mac OS10 (4.9 or above), iTunes, and the OverDrive Media Console.  The OverDrive Media Console is a free download.
