Services for Schools

The Perkins Braille & Talking Book Library has a collection of unabridged classics, biographies, popular fiction, and non-fiction books often assigned by schools, as well as a variety of magazines for children and young adults. Schools and institutions serving eligible patrons can receive materials on demand or establish a deposit collection.

The Perkins Library tries to provide requested titles to students, teachers and school systems as quickly as possible. Requests for specific titles should be submitted to the Library at least two weeks in advance. If a book is unavailable, the Library will try to duplicate it on cassette or obtain it through interlibrary loan.

The Library offers schools and institutions access to all of our Services for Juveniles and Young Adults, including our Braille Awareness Kit and downloadable books through our Unabridged Program.

To register for Library Services, please review the Service Eligibility Guidelines and complete the Institutional Application for Library Service. Contact the children's librarian with any questions.
