Full-time - Teaching Assistants - #157, 160, 161, 177, 178
Department: Secondary Program
Duties and Responsibilities: Teaching Assistants in the Secondary Program work with multiply impaired, blind and visually impaired students between the ages of 12 and 22 in classroom and residential settings. Responsibilities include providing direct care, independent living skills training and leisure time activities, assisting with lifting and transferring and implementing behavioral interventions. Work schedules typically include day, evening and weekend shifts, Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday, 6:30AM-2:30PM or 3:00PM-11:00PM. Room and board may be available in exchange for Asleep Overnight coverage 2 to 3 nights per week.
Minimum Requirements: High School diploma. Must be able to complete First Aid/CPR certification and CPPI training (certifications/trainings are offered by Perkins). Must be able to lift and transfer students.
Preference may be given to applicants having: prior work experience with multiply impaired, blind or visually impaired students.
