Full/Part-time – Teaching Assistant - #135, 136, 186, 187, 191
Department: Deafblind Program
Duties and Responsibilities: Teaching Assistants in the Deafblind Program work with multiply impaired, deaf and deafblind students 6-22 years of age. Responsibilities include providing direct care, independent living skills training and leisure time activities, assisting with lifting and transferring and implementing behavioral interventions and communication skills. Room and board may be available in exchange for Asleep Overnight coverage 2 to 3 nights per week.
Full-time and Part-time schedules are available.
Work schedules are typically Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday from 2:00PM-10:00PM.
Minimum Requirements: High School diploma. First Aid/CPR certification and CPPI training (certifications/trainings are offered by Perkins School for the Blind).
Preference may be given to applicants having: prior experience working with multiply impaired or deafblind students and sign language.
