Perkins Brailler RepairĀ® Program
Perkins Braillers® are indispensable tools for independent daily living and work - you might have one at home, at work, or at school. They are extremely durable machines, but sometimes, they can stop working efficiently. Perhaps you have been reluctant to get your Perkins Brailler® fixed because you could not get along without it, even for a short period of time, or you couldn't afford the expense of the repair.
Now, The Perkins Braille & Talking Book Library has set up a special program for Massachusetts residents registered with the Library to have their Perkins Brailler® repaired for free. Anyone wishing to utilize this service should contact the Perkins Library to make arrangements to send in your Perkins Brailler®, and upon receipt of your brailler with a detailed note from you explaining the problem, we will authorize it for repair at Howe Press at no cost to you.
At the same time, we can also send you a loaner brailler while your unit is being repaired, so you won't have to manage without a Perkins Brailler®. When your Perkins Brailler® is fixed, it will be returned to you directly from Howe Press. Then you can mail back the loaner machine to the Perkins Library in the box in which it was originally shipped.
For more information, call the Library at 617-972-7240 or 1-800-852-3133; or email library@perkins.org.
