Library Radio Spots
Major Boston radio stations WBOS (92.9), WODS (103.3), and WMJX (106.7) are now airing three BTBL announcements. These compelling radio spots actually introduce the experience of listening to a "talking book", as well as providing important program and contact information for this free service.
Click to listen to the MP3 files for each of these special radio announcements featuring Sherlock Holmes, Huck Finn and the Wizard of Oz.
- Hound of the Baskervilles radio spot
- Wizard of Oz radio spot
- Adventures of Huckleberry Finn radio spot
The Library worked with the creative talent and expertise of Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos, a leading public relations firm in Boston, to develop and produce these new radio spots. These announcements demonstrate how The Hound of the Baskervilles, The Wizard of Oz, and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and thousands of other "talking books" are available for free from the Perkins Braille & Talking Book Library.
Outreach and marketing efforts are a key priority in getting the word out about the services of the Braille & Talking Book Library to potentially eligible borrowers in every city and town throughout Massachusetts. It is estimated that over 150,000 individuals are eligible for services, but are unaware the Library exists. We currently provide services to roughly 15% of the eligible users. Radio is a natural medium to utilize in getting the word out about the Library and its wide range of services.
