Perkins Chosen as an Official Charity of the 2009 B.A.A. Boston Marathon ®
Perkins School for the Blind is pleased to announce that we have been chosen as an official charity for the 2009 B.A.A. Boston Marathon. The 113th Boston Marathon will be held on Monday, April 20, 2009. Please help us gain more support for Perkins by making us visible at the Marathon, one of Boston’s oldest traditions!
The Perkins Marathon Team has been chosen and our roster is now full. Thank you to all who submitted applications. Please check back in September for applications for the 2010 Marathon.
Qualified Runners: We would also like to invite those who have already earned a qualifying time for the Boston Marathon to join the Perkins team. Click to download an application (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).
As a qualifying team member you are encouraged but not required to fundraise on behalf of Perkins, attend team meetings, and train with the team. You do not need to fill out a Perkins application to be part of our team if you have already earned a qualifying time, but you will still have to submit your application to the B.A.A to receive an official number. For more information about qualifying for the Boston Marathon, please visit their website at www.bostonmarathon.org.
